Genus - Liberal
Species - Entertainers
This species is my favorite. However, that wasn’t always the case. It used to really make me mad to have to sit and listen to the Hollywood Left and the ridiculous things they say about politics, America, and the world in general. But after observing them more, I now understand that their idiotic political comments are born of their limitations. I mean, how can you make an educated statement if you have a person to keep your schedule, a person to dress you, a person to take care of the millions of dollars that you’ve made by doing nothing more than being an entertainer and Lord knows how many people to kiss your ass. It’s very easy for these ultra-rich actors to preach about how the world should be. They think since they have a lot of money and people fawn over their every move, they have suddenly become smart—but have you ever really listened to them? Most of them either make no sense or are as dumb as stumps. And yet the bulk of the American public keeps listening to what these actors say and take it as gospel—and this is why this species of liberal is so dangerous.
That being said, this species is probably the easiest to identify. They are the people who we watch on TV and in the movies. But here is the question: How do these actors end up being one tick away from a full-fledged Communist?
Well, the answer is relatively easy to figure out. Most actors grew up participating in the thespian groups in their school (remember that crowd?) or have actually gone to a performing arts school where they took dance classes instead of history classes, so they are usually bitter because they either got their asses kicked in school or never had a normal social atmosphere to learn about average people to begin with. This is the first thing to keep in mind. They are the touchy-feely crowd. They lead with their emotions and since they get their booties kissed constantly, they are never told that their political belief system is one tick away from full-blown Communism. That’s part of the reason that they have a certain disdain for you. Look at the Dixie Chicks. They go to England, bash the President of the United States, and when they come back, they are offended that you would actually not want to go to their concerts or buy their records. You are the sheep who are supposed to blindly follow these people to the ends of the Earth.
But don’t think that actors and singers hate you; you are simply a necessary nuisance to them. Yes, you go to their movies, watch their shows, and buy their CDs, but they have to put up with you when you are asking for their autographs, etc. You are a pain in their ass. I can kind of understand since it would literally drive me crazy having people follow me around all the time and wanting to take my picture and what not. However, I said I can kind of understand. Look, this is exactly what these folks aspired to do and the life they have chosen to lead. They make more money than most of us will see in our lifetimes and get to do pretty much whatever they want to, whenever they want to, so I have no pity for them when it comes to putting up with the inconvenience of the paparazzi.
Back to the topic at hand.
The acting community does not live life like you and I do. They live in an atmosphere that is like nothing like we can imagine. Many people in that industry are like sheep to the trends. My favorite example of this is Paris Hilton. She starts carrying around a little chihuahua and next thing you know, everyone in Hollywood is going to the pet store for a tiny little dog. Look at the whole thing with adopting kids from Africa. Angelina Jolie starts doing it, then Madonna and several others. I think that is a major reason that so many actors are liberal nut cases! Have you ever listened to some of these idiots make political comments? They make no damn sense. Look at what our friend Sean Penn has to say about George Bush, "I am more patriotic than this president we have, who I consider a traitor of human and American principles.” (http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/9/6/155943.shtml) It confirms my suspicion that they, for the most part, are not that smart and live in a complete fantasy land. Here are a couple of comments from actors that I think are funny:
Alec Baldwin talking about impeachment:
"And I have come back from Africa to stained dresses and cigars and this and impeachment. I am thinking to myself, in other countries they are laughing at us twenty-four hours a day and I’m thinking to myself, if we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, [starts to shout] all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! [crowd cheers] Wait! Shut up! Shut up! No shut up! I’m not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families. [stands up, yelling] What is happening in this country? What is happening? UGHHH!”
(source: http://secure.mediaresearch.org/news/media...9990111p4b.html)
Whatever happened to the peace-loving and tolerant Democrats? Could you imagine Bruce Willis railing on Henry Waxman like that? His career would be over before he left the auditorium! Oh, how I wish Mr. Baldwin would have moved to France! Well, if he won’t move, then at least I get to laugh at his idiocy.
Gregory Jordan, the director of Buffalo Soldiers, explaining censorship to us:
"Here in the UK no one gets upset, but over there, where the President is fighting these military campaigns in the name of democracy, the first casualty seems to be freedom of speech, the cornerstone of any democracy.”
(source: http://www.drudgereport.com/bufsol.htm)
Mr. Jordan, if I have to explain this one more time, I’m going to get very angry. Freedom of speech is a guaranteed right under the Constitution of the United States. If the American people think you are an idiot and don’t buy your drivel, or movie theaters don’t carry your movie because a vast majority of citizens are offended by it, your freedom is not hampered. It is the free market saying that you suck! It’s not that confusing! If the government steps up and tells you to shut up, that is one thing, and you would see every right-winger go ballistic. But the simple fact that people disagree with you and don’t want to listen is not censorship. It just means you are not in touch with your audience. Sorry, my poor fellow.
Larry Hagman to a German newspaper:
"[Bush is a] sad figure, not too well educated, who doesn't get out of America much. He's leading the country towards fascism."
He went on to say:
"It's all the same to me, he wouldn't understand the word fascism anyway."
(source: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article....RTICLE_ID=31147)
Okay, Larry, so you think President Bush is not well educated. Well. I did a little search on the Internet about your own education, and here is the gist:
The son of Broadway actress Mary Martin, Larry Hagman was born in Fort Worth, Texas. After attending Bard College in Anandale-on-the-Hudson for one year, his own early efforts at breaking into showbiz began at the Margo Jones Theatre-in-the-Round in Dallas, and soon after in The Taming of the Shrew at the New York City Center. He joined the U.S. Air Force where he found time to produce and direct several theater productions. It was also during that time that he met and fell in love with Maj Axelsson, a young Swedish designer. They were married in December of 1954.

So, you meant to tell me that getting an undergrad from Yale and a MBA from Harvard doesn’t hold a candle to a year at Bard College in Anandale-on-the-Hudson? Oh, yes, and one more thing:
fas·cism (f sh z m)
n. often Fascism
a. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
b. A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.
2. Oppressive, dictatorial control.
Sounds more like the Democratic Party to me!
And here’s one from Martin Sheen:
"George W. Bush is like a bad comic working the crowd, a moron, if you'll pardon the expression."
(source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/1166696.stm)
Okay, one last time:
Martin Sheen has appeared in a wide variety of films ranging from the embarrassing to the sublime. In addition to appearing in numerous productions on stage, screen, and television, Sheen is the father of a modern dynasty of actors and a tireless activist for social and environmental causes, particularly homelessness. Born Ramon Estevez on August 3, 1940, he was the seventh of ten children of a Spanish immigrant father and an Irish mother. Growing up in Dayton, OH, Sheen wanted to be an actor so badly that he purposely flunked an entrance exam to the University of Dayton so he could start his career instead. With his father's disapproval, he borrowed cash from a local priest and moved to New York in 1959.

Wow. Martin, I’m really glad you are passing judgment on George W. Bush. You are so smart. You couldn’t even get into the University of freaking Dayton (nothing against the fine University of Dayton). Failed on purpose? Give me a break, sounds made up. I think you knew you just couldn’t pass the entrance exam. I’m wondering who’s the moron now…
So you may be saying to yourself, “Gee, Jack, this book is all about how much the Left sucks—who do you think you are for ripping on the Left for telling it like it is from their point of view?”
Well, here is the difference. I didn’t seek to become famous for one thing (acting) and decide to use my fame for another (making totally stupid statements about politics and politicians). Don’t get me wrong. I believe in free speech and all that, but while free speech gives you the right to say what you want, it doesn’t give you the right to make people listen to the crap you are spewing. It also gives me the right to point out how dumb your comments are. Tit for tat, my little spoiled actors.
Here are a few more comments, just for fun:
Several of Cher showing her intelligence:
"I don't like Bush," she said. "I don't trust him. I don't like his record. He's stupid. He's lazy."
"Some woman said to me she was voting for him because she liked his dad, and I said, 'Good, because that's what you're getting.' If somebody's claim to fame is that they signed a law so that you can carry a gun to church – oh, give me a break."
"If you're black in this country, if you're a woman in this country, if you are any minority in this country at all, what could possibly possess you to vote Republican?"
"If you think the president is an ass, fine – after four years you can vote him out. But the Supreme Court – that's 30 years! The Jerry Falwells of this world will be right in your back pocket. You won't have one f--king right left."
"I'm passionate about this [abortion] because I'm just so scared. I want people to know what's at stake. I'm so nervous about this election, I was supposed to go to Europe in September to work, but I just can't leave."
(source: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2.../2/194548.shtml)
Oh, poor Cher. Couldn’t make it to Europe. Thank goodness she stayed in the country. I feel so much safer that she is protecting my interests and showing my daughters how to dress.
And you know that I also can’t let the “stupid” comment go by…
Celebrity pop singer Cher was born Cherilyn Lapierre on May 20, 1946, in El Centro, California. In her late teens Cher became a studio backup singer and met her future husband, crooner Sonny Bono, during a session with Phil Ramone.
(source: http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/bio.asp?oid=2655)
After looking at several sites, I couldn’t find if she even graduated from high school.
Here’s one from director Spike Lee in reference to actor and National Rifle Association (NRA) supporter Charlton Heston. Good to see he is all about gun control as long as it is directed at the right wing:
"Shoot him--with a .44-caliber Bulldog."
(source: http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,4822,00.html)
Thanks, Spike. It is always heartening for you to wish death on people simply because they don’t think the same way you do. Way to be open-minded, tolerant, and progressive. Not to mention racist.
Here’s another thought from an actor: If you can’t get them to agree with you, take up arms. Way to go Sean Penn, you make me proud!
“I don’t know if people value the thought of revolution any more. I think it would be an enormously patriotic movement to invest in the possibility of revolution.
“You guys misprinted me. You had me talking about some kind of cultural revolution, and I was talking about taking arms against the government.... I don’t know if revolution is practical because the technology is such that we’d lose. But I think there’s an enormous amount of room for an activism that I, shamefully, am not yet enough of a participant in. But it’s starting to come. You see these kids now.... Nothing like Seattle happened in 20 years. It is a very hopeful thing.”
(source: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2001/sep2001/penn-s03.shtml ://http://www.wsws.org/articles/2001/s...penn-s03.shtml)
Of course, what quote montage would be complete without one from Barbara Streisand and Tim Robbins. See if you can figure out who said which one:
A. "Dr. Laura has a right to her opinion, but I think it's irresponsible of Paramount to not give equal time, at the very least, to a person with a more enlightened and contemporary perspective. I'm totally against wasting the airwaves giving visibility to a person who is clearly in dire need of compassion, education, and a good shrink herself."
(source: http://www.stopdrlaura.com/popup/susan.htm)
B. “[Republican control of the House has resulted in] Poison in the water, salmonella in the food, carbon dioxide in the air and toxic waste in the ground.”
(source: http://www.mediaresearch.org/cyberalerts/2...b20021105.asp#2)
Okay, who said what? Tim Robbins said A and Barbara Streisand said B! I think these are good examples of the arrogance that these people have. If you don’t agree, you suck, you are dumb, and (in Spike Lee’s opinion) you need to be shot. Again, whatever happened to the tolerance of the Left?
To me, these actors act like a bunch of spoiled high-school kids who are trying to debate in government class and forgot to read the newspaper the night before. But they will never be called to task by ninety percent of the media because, one, the media is bent toward the left and eating up every word that another liberal says regardless of who it is, and, second, the word of a celebrity means that more people will watch the newscast—and people watching means higher ratings. So the media turns a blind eye in order to get better ratings and these actors then get to keep spouting off their ridiculous statements without being asked to back up what they say. What a racket! Not to mention that these actors also have publicists and lawyers to take care of their screwups and protect them from the big, bad Bill O’Reillys of the world. Even if someone does call out an actor for some inane political comment, the actor’s publicist will somehow manage to spin it to make said actor sound like a much smarter person than he or she really is.
The point of this is that the acting community is generally uninformed about the issues of the day, but to make themselves sound smart, they will spout off with some of the most outlandish bull you’ve ever heard. There are some exceptions to the rule, but for the most part, the entertainment industry, when it applies to politics, is nothing more than that—pure entertainment.
And, finally, just when you think it can’t get any crazier:
05 July 2006
Penn, Sarandon to join anti-war hunger strike
American actors Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon are to join a hunger strike protesting against the war in Iraq.
The fast began outside the White House in Washington yesterday, 4 July.
Each protestor is to give up food for 24 hours, passing the fast from person to person every 24 hours.
This "rolling fast", which has been organised by woman's anti-war group CodePink, is to last until 21 September, International Peace Day.
Musicians Willie Nelson and Spearhead's Michael Franti, together with actor Danny Glover will also join Penn and Sarandon in the strike.
Penn visited Iraq in 2002 and 2003 where he met with politicians and visited a children's hospital and a water treatment plant.
Oh, this is classic. A rolling hunger strike? Totally unbelievable. What’s next? I’m afraid to ask.
